In southeastern Pará, the Carajás National Forest reveals an Amazon of contrasts and exclusivity. Nestled within the Xingu Endemism Center, this region is a mosaic of landscapes that harbors one of the richest and most sought-after birdlife assemblages in Brazil. Among ironstone outcrops and dense forests, visitors may encounter rare and emblematic species such as the Opal-crowned Manakin | Cabeça-de-prata (Lepidothrix iris), the Xingu Scale-backed Antbird | Rendadinho-do-xingu (Willisornis vidua), and the Amazonian Barred [Xingu] Woodcreeper | Arapaçu-barrado-do-xingu (Dendrocolaptes certhia retentus).
